  • Cook it for about 20 seconds from 1 side then flip it and cook from other side.

Notes

  • Make the dough before an hour to cook chapati.
  • Properly knead the dough to get the best results.
  • Don’t make the dough too soft otherwise it will be difficult to.
  • manage.
  • Avoid making hard dough otherwise the chapati/roti will be hard.
  • Dough texture should be semi-soft (Not hard, not too soft)
  • When making roti, dough should be on room temperature. (If you have stored the dough in the refrigerator then take it out before an hour to use).
Knead the dough again before making roti. In this way, the roti will form a consistent texture.
  • If you are using pure 3 cups of chakki flour then add 1 tablespoon of all purpose flour to form a perfect roti. (I personally do this to get the best result).
  • Apply little oil on the surface of roti maker to avoid breaking of roti.
  • To form a circular roti, give a forced press to the handles of roti maker and hold for a second to release the handle. This step is also important to make thin roti.
  • Don’t place big dough inside the plate. Adjust the size accordingly.
  • Place the dough at the upper center of the plate. Don’t place it at the corner or in middle.
  • Practice with small dough to make small roti.
  • Don’t place the dough between plates for long time.
  • Preheat the chapati maker before making roti.
  • Make roti when you are ready to eat. If you want to store then wrap it in aluminum foil to make it soft for a long time.
  • Use warm water for proper cleaning.
  • Always use a little amount of detergent and clean the surface with a soft towel.
  • Use little water for cleaning as it’s electric so water may damage the machine.
Make sure to switch off the machine while cleaning.
  • If you are using an electric machine then keep the kids away while using it.
  • Whatever roti maker are you using, make sure to take a close look at guide to avoid issues.
