  • Skillet

  • Fish - 8 Pieces
  • Yogurt - 1 Cup
  • Salt - 1 Tsp
  • Black Pepper - ½ Tsp
  • Red Chili Powder - ½ Tsp
  • Turmeric - ½ Tsp
  • Coriander Powder - ½ Tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - ½ Tsp
  • Carom Seed Powder - ⅓ Tsp
  • Roasted Cumin Powder - ⅓ Tsp
  • Garlic Paste - ½ Tsp
  • Ginger Paste - ½ Tsp
  • Fresh Lemon Juice - 2 Tsp
  • Oil - For shallow frying

  • In a deep bowl, add yogurt, salt, black pepper, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, carom seed powder, roasted cumin, garlic, and ginger paste.
  • Mix all the ingredients to make a thick paste.
  • In the meanwhile, wash and dry the fish pieces.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice on fish from both sides.
  • Now apply the paste on fish on both sides and marinate for 01 hours or give it more time for marination to absorb the masala.
  • After 01 hours, brush oil on skillet/Tawa.
  • As the oil heated up then place the fish fishes and let it cook for around 10 minutes from both sides. Once one side is cooked and turned to golden brown color then gently flip the fish and cook from another side until it turned to golden color.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander/cilantro and squeeze lemon juice.
  • Fish Fry Masala is ready to serve!

  • Make sure the marination is nonwatery otherwise the fish will release water while cooking.
  • To get the best result, marinate for 3 to 4 hours otherwise 01 hours is enough.
  • Initially place the fish in a skillet on high heat then turn the heat to medium to cook from inside.
  • Gently treat the fish as it can break while flipping.
  • You can take any type of fish to make the same recipe.
  • Salmon, Rohu, Paplet, or Silver Snapper is good for this recipe otherwise you can use any as per your availability.
