Garlic Mushrooms - Sauteed Mushrooms with Garlic

  • Butter - 1 Tsp
  • Olive Oil - 2 Tsp
  • Button Mushrooms - 250 gms
  • Onion - 1 Tbsp Chopped
  • Chopped Garlic Chopped - 1 Tsp
  • Salt - ½ Tsp
  • Black Peppers - ½ Tsp
  • Garlic Powder - ⅓ Tsp
  • Thyme - ½ Tsp
  • Veg Sock - ½ Cup
  • Parsley for Garnish


  • To make the garlic mushrooms, simply add butter and olive oil in a pan and let it get heated for few seconds.
  • Now add freshly chopped garlic and saute until it starts to change color.
  • Now add freshly chopped onion and saute for a minute until it becomes translucent.
  • Add mushrooms on high heat and saute until it changes color.
  • Now add salt, paper and thyme and give it a good mix.
  • Add veg stock and cook on high heat until the stock evaporates. Don't cover! Continuous stirring will give an even color to mushrooms.
  • Roast the mushroom on pan until it gets dry.
  • Garnish with parsley and now it's ready to serve!


  1. Rinse mushroom with tap water and quickly make it dry with a cotton cloth otherwise, the mushroom will absorb water. 
  2. Manage the temperature wisely while cooking mushrooms as it roasted so fast.
  3. If you want you can remove the mushroom stalk.
  4. Avoid cooking mushrooms for long time.
  5. Also, avoid covering while adding veg stock.
  6. You can use a different variety of herbs like thyme, rosemary, or oregano.
  7. You can replace fresh lemon with vinegar.
  8. If you are using salted butter then monitor the salt quantity. In my recipe, I have used unsalted butter.
