Ingredients

  • 11 g Instant Yeast
  • 100 ml Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 3 cups All purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 10 Onion Rings
  • 1 tablespoon Capsicum
  • 1 Cup Chicken Tikka Chunks
  • Mozerella Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat Masala
  • 1 Egg wash

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pizza Dough
  • In a deep bowl, add instant yeast, lukewarm water, and sugar. Give it a good mix.
  • Cover the bowl for 10 minutes to rise the yeast.
  • As the yeast gets bubbly and foamy in texture then add all purpose flour, salt, yogurt, and olive oil.
  • Crumble the flour and make a soft dough. Knead it to make it smooth in texture. You can use a dough mixing machine or just do it with your hand. (Note: you can add water if the dough is dry).
  • Cover and rest the dough for 2 hours in a warm place. After 2 hours the dough will be double or triple in size. Knead the dough and distribute the dough in 2 segments. Use 1 segment to make the pizza crust. The other segment can be used to make another pizza.
  • Knead the dough with the help of dusting flour and make a big pizza crust with the help of hands.
  • On a pizza tray, place the aluminum foil and drizzle the oil at the base and rub it to the foil to make it greasy. Now transfer the crust to pizza tray and stretch it with the help of a hand to make a big pizza crust. You can make thick on thin crust as per your choice. Fold it from the sides to make edges of the pizza. Now the crust is ready to add pizza toppings.

Tandoori Chicken For Pizza

  • In a bowl, add ⅓ cup yogurt, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon red chili powder, ½ teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon coriander powder, small pinch of turmeric, ½ teaspoon of garam masala and give it a good mix. Marinate 1 cup boneless chicken pieces for an hour. Preheat the oven before 10 minutes at 220C and place the marinated chicken in oven and bake for 30 minutes. Broil for 10 minutes to get nice roasted color. Your homemade tandoori chicken is ready to add as topping on your desi pizza.

Arrange Toppings

  • First, pour the pizza sauce and spread it evenly. (I used the ready-made pizza sauce).
  • Apply a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Place onion rings, small pieces of capsicum and green chilies all around the pizza.
  • Generously topped with Chicken tikka chunks.
  • Sprinkle chaat masala. It will add an absolute desi flavor.
  • Make another layer of mozzarella at top
  • Apply egg wash on pizza crust edges. It will add a lustrous texture after baking.

Bake the Pizza

  • Preheat the oven at 220°C or 428°F and bake the pizza for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Take it out and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use good quality instant yeast as it’s the main ingredient that will make the perfect pizza crust. Check it by adding in lukewarm water with sugar. Cover it and leave for 10 minutes in a warm place. If it’s foamy, bubbly, and double in size the yeast is good and you are ready to make your dough.
  • Don’t skip sugar to add with instant yeast as it will work as a catalyst to accelerate the yeasting process.
  • Properly knead the dough.
  • If you are a beginner and seems difficult to make dough then take ready-made pizza dough.
  • Don’t forget to brush oil on the pizza base. It will help to make a toasted base that will give you good taste while eating.
  • Add toppings as per your convenience and availability.
  • Mozerella and cheddar cheese make a perfect combination to make pizza.
  • Make sure the pizza sauce should not be watery otherwise the pizza will get soggy after some time. 
  • Chaat masala will add a perfect desi touch so don’t skip it. If you are reluctant then give it a try! 
  • Egg wash brushing on pizza crust edges will make it extremely lustrous and golden in color after baking.
  • Monitor the time of baking according to your over requirements. Mine was 12 to 15 minutes.
