In a pan, add oil in the pan and heat it up.
Now add whole garam masala (black pepper, cinnamon, green cardamom, cloves, cumin seeds).
Let the whole garam masala pop for few seconds.
Now add onion slices, stir until it gets light brown in color.
Then add chicken pieces and cook on high temperature until the chicken turns to light golden color.
Now add spices, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder.
Saute for few minutes to get rid of spice rawness.
Add 1 tomato (deseeded and without skin).
Also, add beaten yogurt and mix well.
Add green chilies and 150 ml water and cook on high heat for 2 minutes.
Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, add potatoes.
Sprinkle salt, garam masala powder, black pepper powder and black salt.
Add 300 ml of water and mix well.
Now Cover the pan for 25 minutes on low medium heat.
After 25 minutes, the aloo chicken shorba recipe is ready to serve.
