Ingredients

  • 3 Bread Slices
  • 2 teaspoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 400 ml Milk
  • 1 pinch Yellow Food Color
  • teaspoon Rose Essence Substitute: vanilla essence
  • Powdered Milk To Sprinkle on Top

Instructions

Toast The Bread

  • Cut the crusts of the bread, then make a diagonal slice.
  • In a skillet, melt some butter and spread it evenly, then toast the slices over low heat until they become crispy and achieve a light brown color.
  • Set them aside, but avoid covering the toast.

Prepare Sweet & Creamy Milk

  • In a saucepan, add sugar, milk, and a touch of yellow food coloring, then mix it well.
  • Bring the milk to a boil and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. Keep stirring to ensure a creamy texture.
  • Add a few drops of rose essence to impart a floral aroma to the milk.
  • Stir until the milk is well combined and begins to thicken.

Dunk Toasted Bread in Milk

  • When the milk starts to thicken, dip the slices of bread into it, and as they soak up the milk, carefully place them on a serving platter. (Be cautious not to leave the toast in the hot milk for an extended time, as it will become mushy).
  • Repeat this for all the slices, arranging them on a platter like a stack, and then sprinkle with powdered milk.

Garnish

  • Finally, sprinkle powdered milk to make it extra tasty.
  • You can also sprinkle almonds and pistachios to add more crunch.

Notes

  • Don't over-toast the bread.
  • Always toast the bread at slow heat or use a toaster with a light toasting.
  • Use full-fat milk to get a nice creamy taste.
  • Make sure to use edible food color. If you don't want then skip it.
  • Food color will add a tempting yellow color in these sweet toast.
  • Garnish with powdered milk.
Variations:
  • To add more variations, garnish with cream or condensed milk.
  • Desiccated coconut is also the best option for topping.
  • Add some roasted nuts to make it more nutritious and tempting.
  • Skip rose essence (kewra) with vanilla or orange essence.
