Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon Butter
  • 2 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Grated Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 teaspoon Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Soya Sauce
  • Salt & Pepper optional - Add up to your taste

Instructions

  • In a small pan, heat oil or butter over low flame. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden — about 30 seconds. Don’t brown it too much or it’ll turn bitter.
  • Pour in honeysoy sauce, and tomato ketchup. Stir gently to combine everything into a smooth mix.
  • Check the sauce consistency. If it's thin, simmer on slow heat to get the right consistency. Keep stirring!
Tip: If you prefer a thicker, glaze-like texture, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 3 tablespoon water to make a slurry. Add it to the pan while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens to your liking.
  • Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 1–2 minutes until glossy and aromatic.
  • Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Give it a good mix and remove from heat.
  • Now the sauce is ready! Serve it alongside your meal.

Pro Tips To Get Best Result
  • Avoid cooking sauce on high heat; medium heat is the way to go.
  • If you enjoy garlic pieces in your sauce, feel free to add grated garlic. Otherwise, garlic paste or powder works just fine.
  • When you add honey, keep the heat low to maintain its flavor.
  • Remember to whisk immediately after adding the honey.
  • Be careful not to overcook, because it can add a burnt taste that’s hard to fix.
  • Season with salt and pepper to your liking, but taste your sauce first before adding anything.
  • And remember, soy sauce and salted butter already have salt in them!
