    Mutton Biryani Recipe - Dum Biryani - How to Cook Mutton Biryani at Home (Video) | In cooking recipes, "biryani" is the most popular and demanding recipe of the subcontinent that people love to eat.

    Biryani can be prepared with different meat options but the taste of mutton in biryani is exclusive. It's the best biryani combination with great aroma and taste. In this recipe, you will get the touch of restaurant style mutton biryani. It simple and easy to make in your home kitchen.

    Mutton Dum Biryani Recipe Card

    Ingredients

    Mutton - ⅓ KG
    Onion - 1 Big size
    Whole Garam Masala
    Oil - 1 Tbsp
    Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tbsp
    Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp
    Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp
    Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp
    Salt - To Taste
    Yoghurt - ½ cup
    Tomato cubes - ½ cup
    water - 200 ml
    Garam masala powder - 1 Tsp
    green peppers - 2

    Garam masala for Rice
    Cumin seeds - 1 Tsp
    Cinnamon - 2 inches stick
    Bay leaves - 3
    Rice - 2 Cups
    Fresh coriander - few leaves
    Yellow food color - 1 pinch
    Milk - 50 ml
    lemon - 1 Tsp

    Method:

    1. Preparation of Mutton Curry: Cut onion into thin slices.
    2. In a pan, add oil and heat it up.
    3. Add whole garam masala in oil.
    4. Also, add onion slices and make it brown.
    5. As onion get brown take it out on kitchen pepper.
    6. In hot oil, add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt.
    7. Saute for few minutes until the curry formed.
    8. As oil come over the surface add mutton and stir again for fa ew minutes.
    9. Make a paste of yoghurt and brown onion and add in curry.
    10. Stir curry for 2 minutes and add tomato cubes.
    11. Mix well on high heat and add 200 ml water.
    12. Sprinkle garam masala.
    13. Stir and cover for 45 minutes to tender the mutton.
    14. After 45 minutes the biryani curry will be ready.
    15. In the mean while, prepare biryani rice.
    16. Preparation of biryani Rice: In a spacious pan, add 500 ml water and add whole garam masala and cover for 10 minutes to make the water steamy and aromatic with gram masala flavor.
    17. Add rice in hot water and cook until it cook 80%.
    18. Drain water from rice and start layering process.
    19. Biryani Layering: Over the mutton curry, make a layer of rice and adjust salt.
    20. Add some fresh coriander leaves in rice.
    21. Also, add yellow food color mixed with milk. Pour the yellow milk over the biryani rice.
    22. Squeeze half lemon over the rice and cover for 'Dum' for 15 minutes.
    23. Initially keep on high temperature for 4 minutes then turn the heat to low to form a proper 'Dum'.
    24. Now mutton biryani is ready to serve!!Best option to serve with biryani raita and enjoy!
