I tried this amazing sauce on my hot honey chicken tenders for our weekend dinner, and my family absolutely loved it! It wasn't just the heat that impressed them, but the incredible flavor.

The inspiration for the hot honey sauce came after I made a honey garlic sauce. It was delicious on its own, but it really reached a new level when I added some heat, and that's what this recipe is all about!

    What is Hot Honey Sauce?

Hot honey is a delightful blend of tangy and spicy flavors, perfect for enhancing both sweet and savory dishes. This chili-infused condiment, made with just a few ingredients, quickly elevates your recipes with its bold taste.

If you enjoy a kick in your meals, keep hot honey on hand for marinating, drizzling over appetizers, or adding to burgers and sandwiches.

Its thick, sticky texture and strong adhesion make it an excellent choice to enjoy on its own alongside a range of dishes.

Why Do I Love This Recipe?

I have to say, this is the ultimate sauce packed with a delightful blend of sweet and savory spices that everyone adores.

    • It's a super quick recipe that takes just 5 minutes to whip up.
    • You only need 5 common ingredients from your pantry.
    • No cooking required!
    • This budget-friendly condiment delivers amazing results.
    • It's a homemade sauce that’s incredibly versatile, offering numerous ways to personalize it.
    • Prepare it in advance to use as a dipping sauce or incorporate it into your dishes.
    • You can easily tweak the spice level to suit your preferences.

    Ingredients & Substitutions

Honey: Use any premium-quality honey with a gentle flavor. A lighter color typically indicates a milder taste, while darker honey tends to have a richer, more robust flavor. For recipes and sauces, it's best to choose a milder honey, as it will blend seamlessly with other ingredients.

Chili Flakes: This ingredient is essential for adding heat to your sauce. I prefer using crushed red pepper flakes, but you can also experiment with chipotle Morita flakes, Aleppo, ancho, Carolina Reaper, or crushed Habanero chili flakes. Feel free to adjust the amount of spice according to your personal preference.

Garlic Powder: The bold flavor of garlic pairs wonderfully with the sweetness and spiciness in your dish.

Salt & Paprika: Balancing the flavors with salt and smoky paprika will enhance the overall taste and enrich the color of your sauce.
