    Papdi Recipe - How to Make Papdi - Namkeen Papdi Recipe for Chat - If you love chat recipes then you must love this homemade papdi recipe that I specifically made for 'chana chat'. People want to know how to make papdi just like they take from the market or eat in dhaba or in street food chaat.

    Today, I am making exactly the same crunchy and tasty golden brown papdi for chat. You can try this with papdi chat, chana chat, aloo chat, samosa chat or in other ways.

    Recipe of papdi is super easy and simple only need a proper distribution of ingredients to create the same crunchy effect that you eat on dhaba chat.

    It's a T-time snack recipe or namkeen recipe that you may have in evening tea and if you are a lover of chaat then you can take any time when you crave 🙂

    So, let's start now...

    Homemade Papdi Recipe for Chat - Video

    I made this papdi in my kitchen so you can watch step by step process.

    Ideal for: 3 Persons
    Cooking time: 40 Mins
    Difficulty: Easy (Beginners can try)
    Recipe Language: Urdu / Hindi

    papdi recipeIngredients:

    All purpose flour (Maida) - 1 ½ cup
    Cumin seed: 1 Tsp
    Cornflour: ½ cup
    Salt -  to taste
    Oil/Ghee/Butter: 2 teaspoon (for dough)
    Oil for deep frying

    Method:

    Prepare Papdi Dough:

    1. In a bowl, add Maida ( all purpose flour).
    2. Mix salt, Cumin seeds, cornflour and oil in maida.
    3. Properly mix all the ingredients through hand or spoon.
    4. Now add water to make a dough.
    5. Make a soft dough.
    6. Cover the dough and keep it for 45 mins.
    7. After 45 mins, make a small

    Steps to Roll Papdi:

    1. Take a small portion of dough and make a smooth small ball through hands.
    2. Roll it using the rolling pin and make a big roti.
    3.  Now cut the roti in small portion using circular cutter or any bottle cutter.
    4. Now, take out the cutting part and place in platter.
    5. Again, roll the rest of the cutting of dough and make a ball and again roll it to make other papdi's.
    6. Now you can repeat step 3 and 4 to make further.

    Deep Fry the Papdi:

    1. Add oil in a pan/walk for deep frying
    2. Initially, keep the temperature high.
    3. Now place 1st batch of papdi in hot oil and keep the flame to medium so it get crunchy texture.
    4. Flip the papdi as it get light brown color from one side.
    5. Now on medium flame, keep frying the papdi's until it get brown color.
    6. Take out on kitchen paper so it absorbs the extra oil.

    So, now you homemade papdi is ready to serve.

    Now you can serve it with chana chat, aloo chaat, samosa chaat..
