    When it comes to make the best homemade seasoning for spaghetti sauce then this blend of spices make the perfect taste. Many people relate it with Italian seasoning which is a part of this recipe along with other spices. It has a strong aroma and pungent taste to double the flavor of pasta dishes. You don’t need to rush for ingredients to grocery store as you can easily find it in your pantry.

    What is Spaghetti Seasoning?

    Well, it’s a combination of herbs and spices in one place that will incredibly enhance the flavor of pasta, pizza, soup, and sauces. Packed with a sweet, tangy, earthy, savory, and garlicky taste that makes a perfect taste in recipes.

    You don’t need many ingredients to make this seasoning at home. Only a few handfuls of ingredients from the pantry can do this job. Collect everything together with the required quantity and mix it. Simply staple it in your pantry and use it to elevate the flavor.

    Why Do I Love This Recipe?

    To be very honest, it’s easy to make within 5 minutes and can be used again and again to make a variety of recipes. It gives freedom to save time in the kitchen as it contains a balanced quantity of all ingredients. For me, it really makes sense to use this seasoning to cover the spices of the whole recipe.

    It’s easy to take the store-bought seasoning but homemade is best as it doesn’t carry any preservatives. It will hardly take 5 to 10 minutes to make and store. I feel it’s a smart way to make healthy seasoning which is cheap, and affordable.

    Restaurant-style pasta has a specific taste and aroma that we all love and are always tempted to have it. This secret seasoning will help you to maintain the same taste and delectable aroma at home.

    Ingredients & Substitutions

    Italian Seasoning (2 Tablespoon): It's a mix of oregano, rosemary, thyme and basil. I used this homemade seasoning. Store bought can be used! Alternatively, use separate herbs and add 1 tablespoon for each.

    Garlic Powder (1 Tablespoon): It has strong aroma and sharp garlicky taste prepared with dehydrated garlic. In homemade seasoning, you can easily manage the taste of garlic as your taste buds. If you like light garlic flavor then use in less quantity. Over addition can make the seasoning bitter.

    Onion Powder (1 Tablespoon): It will help to lift up the seasoning taste with strong aroma and flavor of roasted onions.

    Fennel Powder (⅓ Teaspoon): Optional but I love to add as it will add more flavor.

    Black Pepper (⅓ Teaspoon): Freshly ground black pepper corn will add flavor and spice.

    Chili Flakes (½ Teaspoon): Use as per your taste. It will add a tangy flavor in seasoning that you can adjust as per your taste.

    Paprika (1 Teaspoon): Used smoked paprika which has strong outdoorsy flavor.

    How To Make Spaghetti Seasoning

    Collect all the ingredients in one place and mix it properly. It's easy to mix with spoon or whisk but I prefer to give it a good mix using grinder to get smooth and coarsely grounder version of this seasoning that makes a good impact in recipes.

    • Manage the salt in your recipes as it doesn't used in seasoning. Make sure the store bought Italian seasoning contain salt.
    • Manage the ratio of chili flakes as per your taste. Added just to add a spice factor.
    • Fennel powder is optional.

    Note: This seasoning is strongly packed with herbs and spices so use in moderation as over addition can change the taste.

    Easy Tips

    • In homemade seasoning, you can easily adjust the taste as per your taste. If you like to make it spicy, add more chili flakes, and in the same way, you can omit it if you don’t like spicy seasoning.
    • Carefully monitor the quantity of garlic powder as the overdose can make the seasoning bitter.
    • Salt is an option to use in this recipe. If added, then adjust the taste of the recipe to match the taste.
    • Manually mix all the ingredients or use the grinder to mix. I love to use a grinder as it makes the perfect and smooth texture of seasoning.

    Store

    Right after whisking the seasoning, store in airtight glass container. Make sure to sealed it properly to preserve natural aroma of herbs for long time.

    Keep it in your pantry (room temperature < 30C) for 6 months.

    Keep it in refrigerator if temperature is high. I don't prefer to freeze it.

    Always cover right after use. Always use a dry spoon to avoid fungus.

    How To Use

    Sprinkle: This seasoning will give you purely Italian vibes to sprinkle on spaghetti, pasta, homemade pizza, soup, and salads. If you are making garlic bread, give the twist in recipe and sprinkle before baking. It will not only add taste in bread but also starve you with delectable aroma.

    Use in Marination: I love to use in my family favorite baked chicken recipe that I prepare for family dinner.

    Ingredients

    • 2 tablespoon Italian Seasoning oregano + rosemary + thyme + basil

    Instructions

    • In a deep bowl, gather all the ingredients (Italian seasoning 2tbsp, garlic powder 1 tbsp, onion powder 1tbsp, fennel powder ⅓ tsp, black pepper powder ⅓ tsp, chick Flakes ½ tsp, smoked paprika 1 tsp).
    • Mix it well using a spoon. Alternatively, coarsely ground in a grinder.

    • Always shake well before use to shuffle all the ingredients.

    Notes

    • Manually mix all the ingredients using spoon or use the grinder to mix. I love to use a grinder as it mixes perfectly and give it a smooth texture. Don't make it fine powder, coarsely ground is good. 
    • Carefully monitor the quantity of garlic powder as the overdose can make the seasoning bitter.
    • As it's a homemade seasoning so you can easily adjust the desired taste. If you like to make it spicy, add more chili flakes, and in the same way, you can omit it if you don’t like spicy seasoning.
    • Salt is an option to use in this recipe. If using store-bought Italian seasoning then make sure it contains salt.
