    • Paratha
    • Pizza

    How to Make

    Preparation of Dough

To make good chapati in chapati maker, you need to be extremely conscious about dough as it's a main factor that can make your experience good or bad.

When we make dough of normal chapati then dough can be manage if it's hard or soft but in chapati maker the dough should be firm in texture. If it's soft then you will get hard time to get good chapati. If the dough is hard then chapati will be hard so it's needs to be in middle to cook proper chapati.

To make the dough, add whole wheat flour (chakki ka atta) in a deep bowl and add 1 teaspoon of salt. Give it a good mix. Now gradually add water in batches to make a dough. Properly knead the flour for 2 to 3 minutes.

Cover the bowl and place on warm place. I prefer to keep in microwave or oven (make sure to switched off). Rest the dough for an hour to get settled.

    Chapati Making

Step 1: Place the chapati maker on kitchen counter or at flexible place where you can easily manage.
Step 2: Now preheat chapati maker to make soft and fluffy chapati.
Step 3: Take a portion of dough and make small ball. Dust the ball in flour if it's required but avoid to too much flour otherwise the roti will be hard.
Step 4: Place the ball at the upper center of chapati maker. Now close the plates with handles and firmly press with strong hands for 1 or 2 seconds. Avoid to press handle for long time. Now the exciting part will start that made you to bought this machine. Your roti is round and big in size.
Step 5: Cook it for about 20 seconds from 1 side then flip it and cook from other side.

Once the roti is ready, cover it! I personally cover my chapati maker roti using aluminm foil as it stays soft for long.

    Easy Tips

    1. Make the dough before an hour to cook chapati.
    2. Properly knead the dough to get best results.
    3. Don’t make the dough too soft otherwise it will be difficult to manage.
    4. Avoid making hard dough otherwise the chapati/roti will be hard.
    5. Dough texture should be semi soft (Not hard, not too soft)
    6. When making roti, dough should be on room temperature. (If you have stored the dough in the refrigerator then take it out before an hour to use).
    7. Knead the dough again before making roti. In this way, the roti will form a consistent texture.
    8. If you are using pure 4 cups of chakki flour then add ½ cup of all purpose flour to form a perfect roti. (I personally do this to get the best result).
    9. Apply little oil on the surface of roti maker to avoid breaking of roti.
    10. To form a circular roti, give a forced press to the handles of roti maker and hold for a second to release the handle. This step is also important to make thin roti.
    11. Don’t place big dough inside the plate. Adjust the size accordingly.
    12. Place the dough at the upper center of the plate. Don’t place it at corner or in middle.
    13. Practice with small dough to make small roti.
    14. Don’t place the dough between plates for long time.
    15. Preheat the chapati maker before making roti.
    16. Make roti when you are ready to eat. If you want to store then wrap it in aluminum foil to make it soft for long time.
    17. Use warm water for proper cleaning.
    18. Always use little amount of detergent and clean the surface with soft towel.
    19. Use little water for cleaning as it’s electric so water may damage the machine.
    20. Make sure to switched off machine while cleaning.
    21. If you are using electric machine then keep the kids away while using.
    22. Whatever roti maker are you using, make sure to take a close look on guide to avoid issues.
