Ingredients
The making of garlic mushrooms requires few ingredients that you can take from your pantry as every house have it. Here are the ingredients to follow:
- Mushrooms - Used white button mushrooms with cap and stem. Trimmed from end right before cooking.
- Butter - You can increase or decrease the quantity of butter as per your taste. Also, make sure to check out salted or unsalted butter to manage the salt.
- Olive oil - I have used this because it helps the butter to cook without burning.
- Garlic - As it's a butter garlic mushroom so the garlicky flavor should be there. I have used freshly chopped and garlic powder both as it creates a perfect garlicky taste.
- Salt, pepper, and Garlic powder
- Onion - Used chopped onion as it gives the best taste after sauteed in butter/oil.
- Veg Stock - If you don't have veg stock then simply use water.
- Herbs — I used thyme, but you can simply replace it with oregano and rosemary.
- Garnish with parsley, chives, or dill.
- Fresh Lemon - Squeezed fresh lemon to add citric taste that will also help to enhance the strong garlicky flavor.
How To Make
In a frying pan or wok, add butter with olive oil and let it heat up for a few seconds. Saute freshly chopped garlic in oil for few seconds on medium heat. As the garlic starts to change color then add chopped onion and let it caramelize for a minute until it becomes translucent. Now add mushrooms on high heat and saute until it changes color. Keep stirring during sauteeing. Season with salt, black paper, and thyme. Give it a good mix. Add a splash of veg stock and cook on high heat until the stock evaporates. Don't cover the pan! Continuous stirring will add an even roasted effect on mushrooms. Roast the mushroom on pan until it gets dry. Garnish with parsley and squeeze fresh lemon. Yay! now it's ready to serve!
