I'd like to share, one of my friends who visited Peshawar brought this as a gift for us and it was the best taste in our dining. Normally the Pakistani food is spicy in taste but this karahi is not much spicy so everybody can easily eat.
It's a super quick and easy recipe of chicken karahi that everybody can make at home even if you are a beginner. Only a few ingredients are needed to make this delicious karahi recipe. Tips to Make Street Style
- Fry chicken on high heat until it changes the color to a light golden brown.
- Never add any spice before frying the chicken.
- Use pulpy tomatoes without skin to make a karahi curry.
- Always remove tomato skin to create the best texture of karahi.
- Only add black pepper to make it spicy. Don't use any other spice otherwise, the taste will compromise.

Main Ingredients
- Chicken - 600 gms
- Oil - 1.5 Tbsp
- Garlic - 2 Tsp
- Tomatoes - 3
- Green Chilies - 8
- Salt - ½ Tsp
- Black Pepper - ½ Tsp
- Julianne Ginger
- Water - ½ Cup
- Butter - 2 Tsp
How to Make
- In a wok (karahi pan), pour oil and heat it up.
- Now add chicken on high heat and fry until it starts to get a golden color from all sides.
- add garlic paste and saute for few seconds on high heat.
- Now add salt and tomato cubes and green chilies.
- Add ½ cup of water and cover for 20 minutes to tender chicken on low/medium heat.
- After 20 minutes, remove the tomato skin and blend using a spoon/spatula to make a smooth curry.
- As the oil visible on the karahi surface then sprinkle black pepper.
- Mix it well.
- Garnish with butter and julienne ginger.
- Serve hot in karahi with Naan or roti.

As it's normally serve as main course so simple Tawa Naan, Green Raita, Hari Chutney and Veg Salad. If you want to serve with rice then try with Garlic butter rice as it's so tasty. I personally taste so recommending to try otherwise simple tadka rice or biryani rice will be fine to serve.

Notes
- Preferred to make karahi with bones.
- Always cook chicken on high heat.
- Make sure to not add masala before frying the chicken.
- Remove tomato skin and make sure to use pulpy tomatoes as it will help to make gravy in a karahi.
