    Bread Pockets (Pizza Pockets)

    In snack recipes, bread pockets are getting popular due to it's it's stuffing. Once you eat, you will feel the flavor and aroma like a pizza. That's the reason of getting famous as pizza pockets. It's a handheld, quick and easy recipe that you can serve as a snack, starter, or appetizer.

    About Recipe

    Bread pockets are easy to make appetizer or snack that you can prepare with fresh bread slices. Use the leftover pizza topping to make bread stuffing. Make a pocket of bread with stuffing and shallow fry to get golden brown color. It's a nice and crispy golden brown handheld snack that will give you the best flavor and aroma.

    As it's a quick and easy recipe so you can quickly make it to serve at parties, breakfast, teatime, and lunchbox. My son loves to eat these pockets as he thinks it's a fried pizza :-). If you are a mommy of picky kids then try this and I am sure your kids will love it.

    Bread pockets can be prepared in a variety of ways like using pizza dough, puff pastries, and here I am making using bread slices that are super easy and quick to make.

    On a personal note, first time, I prepared this recipe for a Sunday breakfast table with leftover pizza toppings and served it with a homemade cappuccino. Everybody loved it! and since it's in my quick recipe collection.

    Expert Tips

    • Use fresh bread to make these pockets as it will easily roll and perfectly roll to make the pockets.
    • Don't use too much stuffing otherwise the pockets may break.
    • Make sure the stuffing is not watery otherwise the bread will get soggy after frying.
    • You can deep fry or shallow fry the pocket as per your choice.
    • Never fry on high temperature otherwise the bread will be dark in color.
    • You can make variations in suffing as per your choice and ingredients availability.
    • To make it healthy, you can bake the pockets or simple make in air fryer.
    • If you feel the pockets are breaking then use the flour paste to seal the openings before frying.
    • You can also use pita bread, puff pastries, pizza dough to make these pockets.

    Ingredients

    • Oil - Use any vegetable or canola oil to cook and fry the bread pockets.
    • Grated Garlic - used fresh garlic to saute the stuffing
    • Salt & Paprika - Season with paprika and salt.
    • Vegetables - Use fresh chopped carrots, onions and capsicum.
    • Pizza Sauce - Use ready made or homemade pizza sauce.
    • Cheese - Used shreded cheddar and mozarella cheese
    • Bread Slices - Used to wrap the pockets

    How To Make

    Preparation of Stuffing: In a pan, add oil and heat it up. Add grated garlic and saute for a few seconds on medium heat. Now add paprika and salt and saute. Add carrots, onion, and capsicum. Stir and mix well. Add half a cup of cheddar and mozzarella and mix well until it gives a blended look. Keep it aside to get cool.

    Preparation of Bread Slices: Cut the sides of slices. Place stuffing on the side and wrap accordingly. Brush milk on the sides to seal the edges. Wrap in a form of a pocket as shown in the video.

    Frying: Now shallow fry all the pizza pockets until it gets a golden color. Take it out on kitchen paper and serve!

    How To Store

    You can make it ahead of time and store the bread pockets in the refrigerator before frying for 2 days. When you need it, take out and microwave for 2 minutes and shallow fry. If you want to store it for 15 days then freeze it in an airtight container. I personally don't like to store for a long time as it's homemade and doesn't carry any preservatives.

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 teaspoon Oil
    • ½ teaspoon Grated Garlic
    • ⅓ teaspoon Paprika
    • 3 pinches Salt –
    • 3 teaspoon Carrots chopped
    • 3 teaspoon Onion
    • 2 teaspoon Capsicum
    • 2 teaspoon Pizza Sauce
    • ½ cup Cheddar & Mozzarella Cheese
    • 4 Bread Slices
    • Oil for Shallow fry

    Instructions
