    Aloo Chana Chaat

It's a drooling time for me as I am going to prepare an aloo chana chaat recipe with yogurt and crispy homemade papdi (papri). I hardly find a person who doesn't like chaat in fact people living in India and Pakistan love to have different styles of chaat by making variations in ingredients. Today's chaat is more or less like a street-style chaat that I love. Chickpeas and potatoes are good for health and keep filling for a long time. This chaat is full of protein and multivitamins. Best for people seeking healthy diet recipes for weight loss.

Do you know why I love this aloo chana chaat because it can be prepared within 10 to 15 minutes if you have boiled chickpeas. I always keep frozen chickpeas bags in my freezer so it's easy for me to prepare on short notice.

The addition of boiled potatoes, spicy yogurt, and crispy and crunchy homemade papdi make it perfect to take a bite. The flavor of this chaat is more or less like an Indian salad. So if you are planning for Hi-tea or brunch then aloo chana chaat is the perfect dish for you to add. One of the best recipe for Ramadan iftar.

Along with this, you can also serve: Imli Ki Chutney | Green Chutney | Dahi Baray | Kala Chana Chaat | Potato Fingers (Snacks) | Aloo Cutlet

Freshly boiled potatoes are good in taste as it has a soft and creamy texture.
    Spices:
It's important to balance every ingredient in chaat with the right seasoning of spices. Salt, red chilies, and chaat masala go well.
    Tomatoes + Onions

Simply used to add freshness in chaat.
    Green Chutney:
    Used homemade green chutney.
    Yogurt:
Thick yogurt spiced up with salt, red chilies, and chaat masala will enhance the taste.

    Tips & Variations

    1. Make sure the home-cooked chickpeas are perfectly tender. Here is the step by step guide to cook dried chickpeas at home.
    2. Don't overboil the chickpeas (chana) otherwise, the chaat will get mushy.
    3. It's important to properly season the chaat with the right spices and herbs.
    4. Use freshly boiled potatoes. Don't overboil.
    5. I always use chopped tomatoes without skin and seed.
    6. When adding yogurt, make sure it's not watery otherwise the chaat will release water after some time.
    7. Use a crispy Papdi. Add Papdi in chaat when you are going to serve. Otherwise, the Papdi will get soggy and the overall texture and flavor of chaat will ruin.
