    Cappuccino is basically an Italian-based espresso drink. You can also call it strong coffee resemble the latte. In Italian, Cappuccio means "hood" or something that covers the head, thus cappuccino literally means "small capuchin".

    If you are in love with Starbucks or Nespresso Cappuccino then just try this recipe and you will get the same flavor, texture, and aroma in your home. Traditional style cappuccino is comprised of one to two shots of espresso topped with layers of steamed and foamed milk. ... They are creamier and more diluted in taste than traditional cappuccinos, much like a caffe latte with a little foam on top.

    Preferred Milk

    What type of milk do we need to use for Cappuccino?

    If you are in love with a frothy, thick cappuccino, use whole milk. Alternatively, you can use low-fat milk, as the foam produced from skim milk is light and stays for short time.

    The ratio is generally one part espresso to one part steamed milk to one part foam; you can stir all the layers together if that's your preference, but too much milk or too much foam will throw off the bitter-to-sweet balance that makes a perfect cappuccino.

    What is sprinkled on cappuccino?

    Restaurant-style coffee comes with whipped cream and a little sprinkling of cinnamon. This powdered delight is perfect for brightening your morning as a dusting on regular coffee. Add a dash of cinnamon to a latte, cappuccino or even some tea.

    Best Coffee for Cappuccino

    There are multiple options to use but I personally love to make with whole coffee beans. It's a grandma recipe that my family follows. These days, I am making with coffee powder. There are many brands in market selling premium quality coffee powder that you can use to make at home. Roasted dark whole beans has special flavor so you can also try if you like strong sensual cup of cappuccino.

    Ingredients

    Yes, you only need 3 ingredients to make this hearty cup of cappuccino.
    Milk: most recommended is to use full-fat milk as it's more frothy and whipped so well and the foam stays for a long time.
    Coffee:
    Dark and roasted beans coffee powder makes a perfect cup of cappuccino.
    Sugar:
    For sweetness and to speed up the process of developing froth.

    How to Make Homemade Cappuccino

    In a bowl, add 150 ml full fat milk, 30 gms instant coffee powder, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Beat the milk for 3 minutes using an electric beater until it gets frothy. Note the texture of froth in the video (00:43). As the froth created, add hot milk in a cup. Also, add the frothy coffee milk in a cup and mix well.

    How to Make Heart Design?

    To make a heart design, cut butter paper in heart shape. Place the paper on the cup and sprinkle coffee over it.

    Moderate amount of coffee intake with milk is not bad for health. If you consume more than regular then it's alarming. According to Nescafe, a healthy amount lies between 30 to 40 mg.

    Is it High in Caffeine?

    It depends on which brand are you using. Some brands show high caffeine. Normally the 40 to 64 mg of caffeine index shows on espresso brand. Normally the coffee shows a high amount of caffeine that helps to alert the mind and keeps awake if you feel sleepy.

    Notes

    It's preferred to use whole milk to make a perfect frothy cappuccino. I personally like to use full-fat milk but skimmed milk can be used.
    Cappuccino with skimmed milk will be less frothy in texture as compared to full-fat milk.
    For best results use whole bean coffee.
    If you want to use plant-based milk then use soy, almond, rice, or coconut milk.
