Today sharing one of my favorite Aloo Tikki Recipe Pakistani style that you can serve as a snack or side dish with the main course. It's a super easy and quick recipe also famous as Potato tikki, aloo ki tikiya, alu tikyan, or aloo patties. Basically, it's a form of aloo kabab prepared with finely mashed potatoes, spices, and herbs. Roll in a form of kabab or patty and then shallow fried to get a golden brown patty.
It's a famous dish of the subcontinent, people from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh love to make different styles of aloo tikki by adding variations in spices and herbs. It's a vegan recipe with gluten-free ingredients.
This recipe will give you the crispy and crunchy texture of Tikki after frying. I personally love to make it as a party dish and one of the hot favorite recipe of my friends. Best to serve with green chutney, sweet and sour imli ki chutney.

How to Store and Reheat
You can store tikki before frying in an airtight container for 01 month in freezer. If you are storing it fried form then keep it in the refrigerator and use within 2 days.
Reheating is simple, take out from refrigerator. Heat up the frying pan. Brush the oil and place the tikki on low heat.
If you are taking out from freezer then microwave for 2 minutes and shallow fry until it gets golden brown color.

Make sure to fry tikki in nonstick pan. It will really help you if you are a beginner and having a tough time getting the best Tikki result. Also, don't add much oil to the pan. Shallow frying or pan-frying will be best to make the Tikki intact in shape. If you are coating with breadcrumbs or flour then you can deep fry. Make sure the oil is hot when adding Tikki. Don't cook Tikki on high heat otherwise, it will cook from upside and give a raw feeling while eating.
Best Potatoes to Make Aloo Tikki?
American russet potatoes are good to use as it's starchy and always gives you best taste. In UK, you can use Yukun or King Edward. In India, Pakistan or other countries of South Asia, use any starchy or seasonal potatoes but avoid meetha aloo.

- In a pan, add potatoes and boil it until it gets soft.
- Peel the skin after boiling.
- Properly mash potatoes.

- Make patti (tikki).
- Shallow fry until get golden brown color from both sides.
Notes
- Boil the potatoes till they are ready to mash. Avoid boiling for a long time as it will get mushy and you will not get the perfect flavor of aloo tikki.
- Starchy potatoes work best. If you are in America then take Russet or in the UK then take Yukon. In India, there are a variety of starchy potatoes so take the best.
- Add spices as per your taste.
- You can also add some veggies to make it more nutritious.
