Bread Omelette is one of the most loved street food breakfasts in Pakistan and India. This simple egg toast style recipe uses spiced eggs wrapped around a slice of bread, cooked to golden perfection. It’s quick, filling, and perfect for morning cravings or hearty snack time.

Whether you're abroad missing street food flavors or cooking for family at home, this recipe brings that nostalgic, cozy taste — with crisp edges, soft centers, and spicy tomato-onion filling.
Are you getting bored with eggs prepared the same way? Here, you will find a creative idea to use your bread. I prefer using leftover bread slices or any kind of milk or sliced bread to create this recipe. It's spicy and fully packed with the flavors of an omelette and bread. You can easily enjoy these handheld egg toast patties. The best aspect of this recipe is that it's homemade and requires minimal preparation time.
My son is a selective eater and doesn't enjoy eggs, so I thought to serve it this way, and trust me, he loves it just like a savory egg pancake.

What is Bread Omelette?
Bread Omelette (also called Anda Bread or Egg Bread Sandwich) is a classic desi street food snack. Eggs are whisked with onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and spices, then poured over slices of bread in a pan and cooked until the egg binds the bread. You get a savory, portable sandwich that’s perfect for breakfast, tiffin boxes, or late-night cravings.
There are so many ways to make egg toast. Essentially, this is an Indian street food recipe that street chefs prepare using local spices, herbs, and cheese. The two most common methods of preparation are the bread omelette sandwich or in the form of patties.
The idea behind this recipe is to blend the bread and eggs together to enhance the flavor in a more substantial manner. My approach is to keep it simple and easy so that anyone can quickly whip it up at home using common pantry ingredients.

Ingredients & Substitutions
Bread: You can use any type of milk or sliced bread. Brown bread is also an option. Using large-sized bread will create a big round patti.
Eggs: This recipe requires only 2 eggs.
Oil/Butter: Use oil or unsalted butter for shallow frying.
Onion - Finely chop the red or purple onion to include in the omelette.
Green chilies - These will add spice! Adjust the amount based on your preference.
Coriander/Cilantro - Use freshly chopped coriander to enhance the aroma and flavor.
Spices: The omelette batter includes salt, black pepper, and red chili powder.
How To Make Bread Omelette
Prepare the Bread Slices: Take bread slices and cut them into a circular form using a bottle cover or circular cookie cutter.
Omelette Preparation: Break 2 eggs in bowl. Add chopped onion, green chilies, fresh coriander and spiced with salt, red chili powder and black pepper. Beat the eggs until it gets fluffy.
Cooking: Heat the nonstick frying pan and grease it with oil/butter.
In the meanwhile, dip the circular bread slices into beaten egg mixture and coat them properly on each side. Place the egg-coated bread in the pan on low temperature.
[Tip]: Don't place bread sliced on high temp as it will color the bread fast which will not create the desire result in terms of taste.
Flip the bread as it gets light brown from one side. As both sides get brown then keep it in a kitchen pepper to absorb the excessive oil.
Arrange the bread slices on the platter and serve it with Karak Chai / Coffee.

Easy Tips & Variations
- Use a large round cutter to slice the bread for the greatest size (diameter). (Make breadcrumbs of leftover sides. Explore this idea to use breadcrumb in mac and cheese).
- Incorporate spices according to your taste.
- To enhance the dish, consider adding diced vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers, spinach, or broccoli.
- Always cook on low/medium heat to achieve the ideal roasted outcome.
- This method ensures that both the egg and bread toast evenly from the inside.
- Serve hot alongside your preferred breakfast sauce. I enjoy pairing it with House sauce.
- You can also include mozzarella, cheddar, and cottage cheese to enhance the flavor of this recipe.
- Use a grill pan or a nonstick omelet pan to prevent sticking or burning issues.
